High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)
A form of interval training that focuses on cardiovascular and muscular growth, high intensity interval training (HIIT) relies on intense, short periods of anaerobic exercise followed by low to medium recovery periods. For example, an exercise will be performed at 90-100% of what an individual can handle followed by a period of 40-50% of the same exercise as a minor recovery period. Imagine doing an all-out sprint for 30 seconds followed by 15 seconds of jogging, this would be one interval.
