Joe Weider may not be a household name like some of the projects/people he has been involved with (Muscle & Fitness Magazine, Men’s Fitness, Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Mr. Olympia Competition, etc.) but his influence on the fitness and nutrition world has stretched far and wide.

This influence is substantial for without Weider, the fitness world would not be what it is today. Weider built his empire from his bodybuilding days, bringing the knowledge he possessed to light for the entire world to see. Lifting weights for exercise used to be frowned upon. For a long time, it was actually a great Hollywood secret among male actors who claimed they were naturally muscular but in reality, they lifted weights to achieve their physiques. Through Weider’s efforts, this secret was long ago released and now we all know how to get a better looking body… it starts with eating healthy and hitting the gym.

Aside from building his business, there are countless stories out there of Weider helping young bodybuilders catch a break. The most famous of these stories is Arnold Schwarzenegger, the young Austrian who came to America at Weider’s request and went on to become one of the biggest movie stars in the world and governor of California.

We thank Joe for all the lives he’s touched and we know that somehow, Chunk Fitness is the result of his efforts through a series of consequential actions.
